Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi – Gratitude Well Explained!!!
Seema Pahwa debuts and how? Ramprasad ki Tehrvi is a WOW!!!
A heart touching film teaching Gratitude in a subtle way and the end credits ensure Thanking each actor, artist associated with the film showcasing gratitude.
The film is simple, and no house exists that has not witnessed a death in the family and all the noise associated with the decease’s possessions. One relates to the circumstances you are thrown into, the noise of relatives, voicing out who came first, ego-clashes on who does what and so on and so forth. There is a song on the possessions towards the end and Ramprasad walking through the lanes is a deep introspection at display rich in cinematic aspects. Plus, Seema Pahwa’s direction and storytelling is stellar in itself, the way Amma (Supriya Pathak) sees her younger days in the house, Parambratha shown as a young Ram Prasad in those scenes, touches your heart and takes you to your trip down the memory lanes of your lost ones. The impact is deep, and you are left with tears. But the film ensures, you are not overwhelmed and there is enough humor that keeps hovering across the screenplay. Primarily riding on the stellar support cast it has, Manoj Pahwa, Vinay Pathak, Vineet Kumar, Deepika Amin, Brijendra Kala and the list is endless. Each one holds a certain ground in the film making it a masterpiece.
Above all, we have Konkana Sen and Vikrant Massey too along with ever adorable Parambrata, who plays the youngest son and this couple has a key role to unlock the route to Gratitude with few words and lots of expressions they speak volume. The last hug that Konkana Sen gives to Amma, is felt to us. That’s the magic of Seema Pahwa’s film.
This is a film for all. Now streaming on Netflix, Ram Prasad ki Tehrvi is a must watch.
PK Verdict: Gold****
P.S. Film is nowhere close to Pagglait as it was compared to. Both the films are different and calling it similar is like comparing two romcom films, two thrillers, two comedies. So yes, they may have certain parallels but they definitely don’t meet.
