#DoctorG – Misses to hit the G Spot. PK Verdict: Tin**

Ayushmann Khurana, Rakul Preet, Shefali Shah
Comedy , Entertainment
Ayushman khurana is honest in his performance, in his act. He brings in the right sensibility in the no pulse film #DoctorG. He is good in a bad film.
A genre where he belonged creating a niche for himself, is at the onset to take his audience for the ride giving them an Ayushman Khurana film with no trace of what one would expect from “the Ayushman Khurana” film. DoctorG has nothing new to convey to his audience let alonge entertain. You might get some good laughs in their promotions on the kapil sharma show than the film itself.
They lost the plot and created something too mediocre. Preaching audience to use the right door to maternity. The jokes at times get gross(G) women are questioned on their fear of taking small injections but enjoy taking Men’s biggest injection(G). That’s the level of comedy they ring in and of course the film is big KLPD(G) for Ayushman’s fans. Don’t go there says “Aiyo Shraddha” but you are already there by then.
The film only has biology and no chemistry be it between the leads or be it with their subject. Uday knowing Fatima is engaged falls for her, they kiss they sing oops that’s what Bollywood boils down too as a must in the checklist of making films. Their love is absolutely unconvincing credit goes to poor writing.
The two ladies who shine in their part are Sheeba Chaddha and Shefali Shah. The sensibility Sheeba showcases for the character she plays is well written and she does it beautifully. Shefali Shah always has a great command with her screen presence. She hops in and out, bringing in some heartbeat in the otherwise dead film. The side kick Abhay as Chaddi besides Ayushman Khurana is another checklist ticked.
Director Anubhuti Kashyap debuts with #DoctorG trying to earn the brownie points leaving the lead pair in the friendship zone, missing out not just on brewing their story well but the film’s story too. Second half is completely a different film, becoming a story of “kavya” whom you pity. Wish only the makers were more responsible in sketching her role than be a bait to its storyline.
#DoctorG had the potential, however, it fails to hit the G spot.
