#Dobaaraa – An Intelligent Brain Teaser!!! PK Verdict: Gold****

Anurag Kashyap hits Gold. A genre that isn’t explored much and then we have Anurag Kashyap making us toggle in the parallel universe keeping us hooked till the end bringing a cinematic wow. Dobaaraa is where intelligence meets execution, a great journey from paper to the picture on screen nicely done. 

The film is based on the Spanish film Mirage having its due credit as the film opens. 

The writer, Nihit Bhave impresses us with his crisp writing, making us believe in the journey of Antara, played brilliantly by Taapsee Pannu. Taapsee is in the skin of the character, making us go through the layers of time, tiding us well towards the end, completing the circle and giving us a good closure. To understand this closure, the film of course demands attention and hence one should experience the magic on big screen as the film is packaged well with great cinematography and background score. The film succeeds to tickle ones celebral bones along with sending the shivers down the spine in some of its scenes. Watching those thunders around the Hinjewadi, making storm a great element, he brings in the right vibes for a film of this genre. 

Casting too is perfect. Pavail Gulati brings in the right support and shines in his character. Rahul Bhatt is impressive and brings in the perfect doze of humor with his mannerisms, a role well written. Saswata Chatterjee as always is dependable. The child artist too steals the show. The film begins in 1996 on a rainy night, introducing Aney as a child artist, taking us to the world of Dobaaraa through his lens, the setting is perfect. Though the film doesn’t belong to the horror genre, yet it succeeds to thrill you to the core, reminding one of the nineties film 100Days, the rainy night thrills are superbly done. Soon they bring you to the present era 2021, this time taking us through the world of Dobaaraa through Antara’s lens. It takes a little while for these two worlds to meet and what conspires them to meet, how one is sailing through the waves of time is where they keep us hooked. Unlaying the mysteries, they make us fall us love with the world they create, very much present giving us a good closure. 

Dobaara is just not the word twister, it is much more than that, it awaits you at a theatre near you to unveil the mystery. Do not miss. 

Dobaaraa is one of the best work by Anurag Kashyap in the recent times.
