Criminal Justice 2 – A Deep Dive behind the closed doors.

Don’t confuse someone’s control for their care. Don’t mistake ownership for a relationship. Don’t judge what you see against what is truly right. Criminal Justice behind the closed doors is a slow dive where why it happened is more important than what happened.

The writer Apurva Asrani gets the sensibilities absolutely right along with the directors Rohan Sippy & Arjun Mukherjee. The synergy of the writing, direction and the stellar cast makes Criminal Justice a topnotch series. It may be low on the adrenaline rush as this doesn’t belong to the who dun it genre. To know the “Why”, it always takes a little while. The series that makes one conscious of all the possible abuse between two individuals; so apart from the lead protagonist there is an inspector duo where you realize the presence of the abuse as it progresses. The identification is important and that’s where the writing plays an important role.

Criminal Justice 2 has the Cast that is pitch perfect each one adding up to the whole with their little back story finding parallels to the case under trial navigating them through the case and through them. Be it the back story of the Pradhan Inspectors in charge (Kalyanee Mulay & Ajeet Singh Palawat) or Nikhat (Anupriya Goenka) or Ratna’s (Khushboo Atre). Each one weaving the plot to its crux of the story. Ratna Mrs. Mishra is the light breeze in this otherwise intense relationship drama, where she along with Pankaj Tripathi succeed to tickle your funny bones with the right measure of humor. Balanced writing it is.

Kirti Kulhari gives a top-notch performance, her vulnerability, her body language, her style of holding up and unwinding the unlayered mystery is the key that instantly brings an empathy with her character Anu Chandra, and that where the whole story lies. She has stabbed her husband a well-known lawyer essayed by Jisshu Sengupta, and her daughter is the eyewitness of the whole scene. From the first episode itself we know she is the one who has committed the crime. This is where you don’t judge what see you see against what is truly right. For many, the open and shut case is the case that when dug well changes the perspectives not just of the case, but the way we see abuse be in any relationship.

The case that probably no defense lawyer may take brings Madhav Mishra back, Pankaj Tripathi who gives yet another stellar performance leading the case and making her colleague Anupriya lead too, their chemistry and their willingness to look behind the closed doors is what makes one introspect to what we see is not what it actually is. The Justice is delivered and how, changing the perspectives, and this is portrayed well by Deepti Naval and Mita Vashisht who portray strong women and they do what strong women should do, looking beyond their own interests, building a better society, bringing a victory to the justice rightly deserving an applause.

The Applause Entertainment continues to win our hearts, #Hostages, #undekhi, #SCAM1992 and now #criminalJustice2.

#CriminalJustice2 Behind the close doors is now streaming on Disney Hotstar.
