#TheZoyaFactor – Indeed the Great Content Factor.

Bollywood is so alive these days looking at the great cinema week after week. It is not sheer luck, seems like the writers and the makers have got the audience pulse. The Zoya Factor ensures Entertainment at its best combining the great thrill of the cricket in a quirkier execution keeping ones interest high.

Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan hit the boundary with their chemistry from the word go. The Cadbury “Kiss Me” ad sets the atmosphere right from the beginning. The duo lit up the screen with their romanticism making you feel the essence of love giving us a charming film with the zing of cricket in it.

The film is based on the novel written by the film writer Anuja Chauhan under the same title “The Zoya Factor”. The narrator of the film is none other than the King Khan who holds your interest with his voice from frame one of the film. Soon after the film opens comes a cameo by Anil Kapoor who is always impressive. There is Sanjay Kapoor in the film who plays father to Zoya and you feel this is a Kapoor family film. Zoya born in a middle class family on a day India won its first world cup, works in an advertising agency.  Not considered too great at work, she is sent on an assignment with warnings along with two colleagues to shoot a Pepsi ad with the Indian Cricket Team on the world cup tournament. The team is led by Dulquer who plays Nikhil Khoda Captain of Indian Cricket Team and has Angad Bedi too, former captain who comes as quite a rivalry and delivers a decent performance.

When Zoya meets Nikhil, the cupid strikes lightening up the screen with some great moments. Zoya soon becomes the lucky mascot with her reasoning and India gets on the winning streak match after match. This leads to in interesting screenplay that is well written and the humour is quite subtle, pepped up with some great performances and underlying message that the film delivers without being preachy until the last word that comes by the narrator of the film – Shahrukh Khan.

Sonam Kapoor proves her mettle with her performance as Zoya and Dulquer is impressive too as Captain he showcases a great confidence. The songs go well with the narrative and the commentary while the matches are on, has a certain intentional quirkiness to let audience know the matches are the work of fiction. Commentary is well thought of and is in sync with the film; keeping your interest high in the film.

The director Abhishek Sharma has one-up his art with a great integration of India’s largest two interest; films and cricket.

You get double the fun at the price of one.

The Zoya Factor – Go for it. It’s a boundary.
