Dreamgirl – A Laughter Marathon!!!

Ayushmann Khurrana is an actor with Midas touch makes Pooja glitter with his smile and mannerisms leaving no room for boredom. His voice modulation is Cherry on the cake making Pooja everyone’s fairy, evolves as a Dreamgirl to many,  with more than 50% of his dialogues in feminine voice he showcases his versatility at par.

If Ayushmann is the body of Dreamgirl; soul is the writer/director Raaj Shaandilyaa, commendable in his writing. With his hilarious one liners and putting them all together he succeeds to create a laughter marathon Dreamgirl is.  Afterall he has been delivering great laughter’s at our homes. He has written scripts for popular comedy series Comedy Circus and The Kapil Sharma Show holding his name in Limca book of records.

Ayushman khurrana plays Sita since his childhood days and holds a great comfort with it. He accidentally & desperately gets into a call center job; “love hot line” where he woos his callers and audience too leaving both flattered. Rajesh Sharma plays his saarthi and later becomes swarthi. Needless to say, Pooja does a great job, business grows so does he and so does his love seekers including his Dad played by Annu Kapoor. Annu Kapoor comes as a great entertainer, his lines, his dialogue delivery, his act everything is class apart. He is picture perfect and so Vijay Raaz, it is indeed great to see this line-up of cast putting it all together a great show. Vijay Raaz too is a show stealer. The camaraderie between Navjot singh and Ayushmann is good too. Nushrat Bharucha though has little to do yet comes as quite bright and confident. The songs also are placed well that doesn’t allow you to sulk in your seats. Ik Mulaqat prior to the interval has a good pace and post interval Radhey Radhey is an anthem song.

The film makes a point on loneliness and friendship which echoes at a high note towards the end of the film. It asks a relevant question if we have that one friend in life with whom we share our soul and they understand. It is because of this shortfall; the chaos occurs. It brilliantly puts together asking to take family photos than selfies. Having thousands of friends on fb and followers across the social media but not one friend with whom you can share the life. All this heavy emotion comes  quite subtly without leaving the comic track. Every third minute of the film you will laugh out loud. The director’s presentation is commendable.

Dreamgirl is an amazing romantic slapstick experience Bollywood has not delivered in the recent times. Not to be missed.
