#SpecialOPS – Baby grows Big!!!

Special Ops is Neeraj Pandey’s Elan. The adrenaline that he brings in his execution is commendable with his picture-perfect cast. The rush is same as what he made us feel in 120 minutes plus Baby. The action, the locales, the execution all top notch. Indeed, the Baby grows big.

Kay Kay Menon

Through an official inquiry on Kay Kay Menon, the plot takes you back n forth giving you a graph of terrorism over the span of two decades. That might sound huge but Neeraj Pandey ensures to keep it crisp instead of giving us more meat and blood, he gives us the context to vouch upon. Touching almost Big T attacks like Parliament Attack, 26/11 and saving the upcoming fictional terrorist attack; the ultimate goal they are not aware of. The inquiry officers Parmeet Sethi and Kali Prasad Mukherjee’s interrogative sessions have a pinch of sarcasm that is fun to watch too. These two come across as those government dogs with their tongues out wanting for more and kay kay Menon hardly leaves them with some bone giving them a piece of meat at his wish keeping their curiosity and our interest high on the plot. Both the officers Parmeet and Kali add a great value to the interrogative sessions. Vinay Pathak too comes as a great support to Kay Kay. Kay Kay Menon’s family life is touched upon too . Gautami Kapoor plays his wife and they both together have a great chemistry which is visible because of the great writing without the showcase of much screen presence. Kay Kay Menon’s daughter gives him the right father goals bringing out a quality humor helping one connect with the father’s vulnerability.

Sajjad Delafrooz

Kudos to Kay Kay Menon who delivers at this ease you almost fall in love with Himmat Singh’s Poise. Karan Tacker as Farooq and ‘what not’ is the heart of the series who brings in a certain rush on field with his character growing his guts with each episode. It is Sajjad Delafrooz’s casting too that makes this chase equally interesting to watch. He has a certain style that comes on display inquisitively giving you more in less. Meher Vij as Ruhani is mind blowing and delivers a kick in a Neeraj Pandey style surprising you with her act. Divya Dutta you wonder what’s her parallel track until further episodes help you connect the dots, keeping you on full throttle to do the binge. Special Ops is One Stellar Web-Series and then you have Sharad Kelkar in the last two episodes raising the bar.

Karan Tacker

Neeraj Pandey’s & Shivam Nair’s execution is brilliant realistic, absolutely in Neeraj Pandey’s style. Webseries though gives you a broader time span of telling you story, it is the vision that helps to keep it crisp and sharp. The editing is super and keeps you on the pace throughout, bringing out a high adrenaline rush in couple of scenes giving a good rise to your dopamine levels wanting for more.

Divya Dutta

Not to forget their style of naming the episodes. Special Ops has 8 episodes, and all these are titled with the Bollywood Classics with a certain relativity keeping the right curiosity. Guide, Mughal-e-Azam, Hum kisi se kam nahi, Chaudvin ka Chand, Qurbani, Shatranj ke Khiladi and conclusively Sholay ringing in the great climax.

“Special ops” on Hotstar VIP is a Binge Watch you Must Take.

P.S. The series has very little profanity unlike other series that ride high on cuss words. Special Ops is Special and doesn’t overdo anything. It has few passable cuss words keeping it realistic never allowing it to go overboard.
