The creator Gaurav Shukla comes with the theory that hijacks your intellect at a very high level and lets you take a deep dive into your mind, helping you take a call right or wrong from purely your perspective. And he succeeds doing this, he engages you to a level wherein you feel the questions raised are coming from your mind and answers are the way you respond to it, the situations if you come across what would be your basic instinct? There are gruesome murders happening with a common link that needs to be decoded. There is someone sitting far from the occurrences is receiving the coordinates where they find the dead.

The killer who is drawing attention helping you connect the dots is taking over the intelligence of CBI leaving you amazed with each move.

The back story at the beginning of each episode is packaged real well helping one connect to the occurrences bringing in the Indian mythology of Asurs and Deities in a flavor that is palpable. You wonder the world around you, and it makes you believe in its theory. Keeping theories on the plate they brilliantly play with your mind with the laws of duality, light and dark, right and wrong, male and female, Black and White, Truth and lies, Ying and Yang and when the wheel of fortune moves light becomes dark, right becomes wrong and so on.

The cast is stellar and each one has done their job with a finesse be it a small or large part. Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti stand out in their performances being the driving source of the series. And so, do Aditya Lal and Gaurav Arora. Asur also stars Riddhi Dogra, Anupriya Goenka and Sharib Hashmi in key roles. Sayak Bhattacharya’s cinematography is a Plus and so is the background score of Dharam Bhatt. Banaras locations are outstanding and the creative aspects of Asur are at a very high level, be it acting, writing, dialogues, production every aspect of Asur is commendable.
