PK Verdict

Gold Plus Rightly anticipated at PK Verdicts. The movie is a master piece and with the Tag Line Goliyon ki Rasleela – Too much doesn’t seem to be too much.

The celluloid is framed rightly for this Shakespeare adaptation of Romeo & Juliet and The RAM & The LEELA are spectacular to watch in this Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus.

Right from the first frame till the last you have the SLB touch – The Midas touch – The execution of the movie showcases his passion towards cinema and it reflects on screen spectacularly.

Although magnum opus on scale the film has very much today’s language with the Tapori slang rightly paced. The story is set in violent times amongst two clans Rajari & Sanera and legacy of this war seems to be in existence since the ancient times; 500+years . Movie begins with random fun firing keeping the cinematic ball rolling and engaging you in the screenplay. Enters Flamboyant Ram on his bike wooing the audience with his charm and attitude demanding peace. Next you see these two clans getting geared up for HOLI and comes the visual treat Deepika Padukone – After Yash Chopra It’s SLB who brings you the Heroine of the movie as Heroine with perfect poise & grace going easy on screen; your eyes and heart too. Perfectly skinned in her Leela Role encountering RAM – they both together on screen and you have the sizzling screen. Lahu Muh Lag Gaya song with the right pace – well choreographed with the perfect cultural touch. This encounter of Ram with Leela or Leela with Ram ignites their chemistry wanting more of each other and their Love Story begins only to unfold the series of events you see in this two hours plus execution.

This larger than life magnum opus also has wide array of casts out of which Leela’s Mother stands out – played by Supriya Pathak Kapur; cult role beautifully essayed and executed. Amongst the rest is Richha Chadda, Raza Murad, Abhimanyu singh who all adds value to complete the story. What comes best in this perfectly framed celluloid is the sizzling chemistry between the main leads. Deepika Padukone’s yet another best performance after Cocktail – Be it a sexy siren or a desi avatar – she fits in so perfectly. She is the soul of the movie with her amazing screen presence, appeal and her dances as well. Ranveer singh is well sculpted be it his physique or his character as Ram. SLB succeeds to drain his acting skills to an extent and makes him perform pretty much convincing in his role adding value to the drama.

Musically well integrated with the kind of songs it has. Lahu muh Lag Gaya, Nagada Sang, Ang Laga De stands the best in all the senses. Credit for the same is the man himself – SLB along with Monty Sharma on the right background score.

Well the gaga goes on, before this gaga surpasses your expectations; go visit a cinema near you and experience “Goliyon ki Rasleela – RAM LEELA”
