Bullet Raja comes from a director who gave us Paan Singh Tomar a movie which was close Indian contender to Oscars. Yet another stylish cinema with Saheb Biwi aur Gangster. Now with the wrong Title the movie doesn’t fail to entertain you however it doesn’t meet the excellence levels set by the man himself – Tigmanshu Dulia.
Bullet Raja – highly commercially set for the masses has high content for entertaining the Single Screen audiences. The correct ensemble star cast is what makes the movie a good watch.
The movie starts with the bang of fires taking you the flashback from where it started. It doesn’t even heat you up and you are directed towards a high voltage not so wooing Mahie Gill’s Raunchy item number. Post the song is where the actual plot begins. Bullet Raja meets his Sipahi(Jimmy Shergill) and they together face the challenge on bullets on them saving their future savior. This act of theirs of saving the savior brings the series of events in their life where they got to underground to save their lives. Here you see them getting into the jail at no reason. The Saif Ali Khan and Jimmy Shergill combo is good they get out of the jail and shower bullets on the man behind the initial attacks and get back in the jail. This just strengthens the plot for them to reach the ultimate Raj Babbar and be his Sipahi’s. The plot is well weaved and it hardly gives you a pace to breathe apart from the songs time. The movie doesn’t have any appealing song. Such movies should be really barred from the songs to maintain the consistency.
The great bonding of the two sipahi’s comes to an end towards the interval. The other siphai now becomes a baaghi and then it becomes more of a revenge plot with political scenario. The fashion in which series of events are lined up is what makes this movie a onetime watch. Post interval you have a starry entry of Vidyut which was not required and eliminating this one the editing table would have made the plot more crisp minus the songs. All this of course leads to the climax which is something makes you feel good and brings a smile on your face. All’s well that’s ends well with this thought the movie verdict does wins the silver title.
Jimmy shergill is impressive, Saif Ali khan has nothing great to offer. Have it been a Salman movie with this action plot would have surely crossed 100crores over the first weekend.
Also, a right title would have made the move little more appealing. Bullet Raja – Nothing so RAJA about it.
PK Verdict: Silver***
