Dharma Productions gives an antidote to their #kank. Post #Goodnewwz Director Raj Mehta nails it down again.
Jug Jug Jeeyo is set in the typical Dharma Set-up, a story of a dysfunctional family revolving primarily around their love relationships be it in the wedlock or out of wedlock. Focus nevertheless is wedlock, giving audiences a reason to be together. Hence, an antidote for their own Production Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, I had loved that movie too, it was ahead of its time. Nevertheless, Jug Jug Jeeyo has its heart in the right place; and that’s Anil Kapoor. The way Anil Kapoor has emerged as an actor in his films, no Hero of his generation has emerged. He eventually becomes the Hero of most of the films he does, from Mubarakaan, Dil Dhadakne do, to now Jug Jug Jeeyo, he does it all. His greyness not predominantly his hair but in his act is so loveable. The confidence he brings on screen strikes the chord straight to your heart, making Jug Jug Jeeyo a must watch. Rest of the Cast is brilliant too, Kiara Advani showcases her acting prowess and continues to win hearts. Varun Dhawan is excellent in the range of his drama and comic timing, he lets you empathize with the character he plays “Kukku”. Maniesh Paul and Prajakta koli as supporting actors bring in their pillar strong support never making Jug jug Jeeyo look dull.
Neetu singh brings in a lot of grace with her act, plus her character is well written. Her vulnerability is the key to the subject to roar. She defines the success of the wedlock well, demanding what is required, doing the right thing. And most importantly, keeping the discipline intact, putting the right message across with her tight slap.
#Jugjugjeeyo is entertaining, brings a good balance of comedy, drama and emotions. Allowing one to dive deep into the currents of what one may experience or witness in their circles around. The story point allows one to sail through these currents, exploring grey areas in a subtle way making one rethink on the perspectives. Thus making the content rich, Raj Mehta becomes a great story-teller. Lot of credit goes to the writing team too.
The film has some good songs that integrate well with the film, some just make the film sound too loud. Background score is way too loud at times hitting right into your ears. The film could have been a little crispier but cannot complain much as the frames are picture perfect, with beautiful people looking more beautiful. Everyone playing their part to their best, Jug Jug Jeeyo is indeed another blessing to the dull times of Bollywood.

A must watch with your family.
PK Verdict: Gold
