SHOLAY 3D – The First Thing is WOAH……..Next is Brilliant;
Fantastic and all such words you can think of. Someone did claim the year 2013 would end with the DHOOM unfortunately that didn’t happen but yes it started with Sholay which is a great Dhoom in itself. The Ultimate Cinematic experience. The 3D Effect may not be well justified but the very first bullet coming out on screen is a WOAH factor. A perfect 3D experience. But this is the movie which doesn’t need much technical support as the brilliance lies in the execution; lies in the character’s; lies in the dialogues; lies in the cinematography and all what you can think of to make the movie. The great ensemble cast ever you may see again.
It’s an honor to write anything about this movie. We all should be thankful to the PEN Productions to bring this cinematic experience to the current generation where they share instant messages and inform about their departures/arrivals-In this era you see Thakur saying “Khat likha hota toh lene bejte kisiko”. That’s the generation leap.
The movie has a brilliant background score and you would love to see the Gabbar doing a jig in the most famous “mehbooba o mehbooba”. The bonding song of Jai & Veeru “Yeh Dosti hum nahi” which a rhythm song for most of the strong bonds of friendship and then you also have a Holi Anthem “Holi k din dil mil jaate” and the never ending Basanti’s dance “Jaan jab tak hai jaan” at the climax. All so entertaining and so well integrated.
You would come across people reciting dialogues along with the movie in the cinema hall that’s the impact this movie had. “Kitney Aadmi They”; “tum teen aur woh doh – bahut nainsaafi hai” ; “arey o Sambha – sarkar kitna inaam rakhe hai humpar” ; “ so jaao nahi toh gabbar aa jayega” and the list goes on and on.
Today’s generation would love to witness the intensity Amitabh Bachhans eyes reflect and what makes him a Superstar. Dharmendra’s suicidal scene; the chirpy Hema Malini, the friendship fun and so many things. The plot where you see chases on the horses; the real cinematic action scenes; brilliant background score. Bollywood may have moved technically ahead but the magic this era had is difficult to bring in. Undoubtedly Class Apart. Whether you have seen it or not is not important. Just to see it again on the big screen is yet another brilliant experience you may have.
Go Enjoy and have fun.
