Trailer Cocktail 2: The Bells Ring!!!

Juicy, tangy, and with just the right amount of salt on the rim — like a perfectly mixed Bloody Mary, Cocktail 2 arrives with a vibe that’s impossible to ignore.

After years of anticipation, Homi Adajania returns to the world of Cocktail, and if the trailer is anything to go by, this second serving looks refreshing, vibrant, and deliciously entertaining. The trailer teases you with its reveal, though not too much, nor does it try to spell out its emotional cards. Instead, it teases, flirts, and leaves behind enough intrigue for the bells to ring.

We’re not here to predict the plot just yet. The trailer smartly keeps its secrets tucked away or rather say at the brim. What it does establish, however, is the chemistry and energy of its central trio — The Threesome Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna. All three look effortlessly charming, bringing a breezy and youthful energy to every frame. The camaraderie feels natural, the dynamics appear playful, and together they promise a fun ride packed with romance, confusion, comedy and emotional chaos.

One of the biggest wins of the film is its music. The iconic Bandhu theme makes a welcome return, instantly triggering nostalgia for fans of the original. But Cocktail 2 isn’t merely banking on memories. The soundtrack sounds fresh, contemporary, and loaded with potential chartbusters like Mashooqa, Jab Talak. Pritam’s music blends seamlessly with the visuals, enhancing the mood while giving the film its own distinct identity. The album definitely has become one of the its biggest strength.

Visually, Homi Adajania’s signature style is all over the trailer. Glossy frames, vibrant locations, attractive characters, and a sense of effortless cool define the aesthetic. Homi has always excelled at making urban relationship dramas look aspirational while keeping the emotions relatable. Here too, he seems firmly in control, crafting a world that feels stylish without appearing artificial. The pacing is sharp, the cuts are crisp, and the storytelling appears confident.

Interestingly, what the trailer doesn’t fully showcase is the emotional intensity that Veronica brought to the original Cocktail. That wild, rebellious, emotionally layered energy that made the first film memorable isn’t immediately visible here. Instead, Cocktail 2 feels lighter, more wave-like, and considerably more playful. At least from the trailer, it appears to lean more towards a coming-of-age entertainer packed with friendship, romance, self-discovery, and fun rather than an intense exploration of complicated relationship dynamics.

But perhaps that’s exactly where the surprise lies. Homi may be holding back the emotional punches for the big screen.

The bells have rung. The glasses are clinking. And this cocktail is ready to be served. 19th June in cinemas near you.

Whether it carries the emotional kick of the original remains to be seen, but for now, we’re happily raising a toast.
