Thanks to the Director Kabir Khan for envisioning this film and bringing someone back to the Glory who was already glorious just that was less known. Kartik Aryan who essays the role of Murlikant Petkar is in the skin of the character and his charisma works in the role of Chandu drawing parallels through his life of never giving up. He shines like a bright star. Chandu Champion works as a catalyst to shine his journey too in his filmography. Yet another honest performance he brings post beautiful Satyaprem ki Katha.

Murlikant Petkar is India’s first Paralympic gold medalist. He won an individual gold medal in the 1972 Summer Paralympics, in Heidelberg, Germany. He set a world record in the 50 m freestyle swimming event, at 37.33 seconds. India recognizes this after 46 years, a lost chapter in the Indian History and how he is awarded a Padmashri Award in 2018. A true valorous story that Kabir Khan brings on the celluloid as Chandu Champion and Kartik Aaryan is man of the moment, with essaying his role at par. He is Valiant and Vivacious. Director Kabir Khan leaves no stone unturned to keep the films appeal universal, his cinema is inspiring, moving, engaging and above all entertaining. Kartik Aaryan is the man of the moment, we all by now know his journey and how he has always been determined to become an actor. His journey only elevates film after film and post a delicate sensitive performance in Satyaprem ki Katha, he delivers yet another stellar performance in Chandu Champion, getting into the skin of character with his Soul, body, and mind. His physical transformation is unbelievable, and his emotional character arc spectacular. His confidence shines and his vulnerability as Chandu curates the right empathy. With Chandu Champion, he showcases his growth as an actor.

The rest of the cast in the film forms a brilliant cast. Vijay Raaz as always is dependable and as Tiger Ali he comes as the best supporting cast one can have.  Bhuvan Arora last seen in Farzi web series plays Garnail Singh Chandu’s best pal. He is impressive in his screen presence, performance and their camaraderie is great to watch. Rajpal Yadav has become a lucky mascot for Kartik Aaryan, is brilliant in his screen presence and holds you in his scenes without Kartik Aaryan too. He is brilliant, then be it his comic timing or emotional timing too.

Technically the film is brilliant in all the aspects music, cinematography, sound, background score, writing, everything is top-notch. The sports scenes are well-done, and nothing looks like a bucket list to be ticked, the experience is immersive. Be it wrestling in the village or boxing in the international arena, or his swimming preparation, Chandu Champion immerses you to the core in its cinematic experience.
