Dhoom Dhaam – Ghoom Ghaam – Lost Wanderers!!! PK Verdicts: Just Silver 2.5*s
#DhoomDhaam – GhoomGhaam – Lost Wanderers!!!
Director Rishab Seth helms Dhoom Dhaam, introducing a lead pair worth anticipating. However, the trio of writers seem like lost wanderers, uncertain whether they are crafting a thriller or a situational comedy of errors—ultimately delivering both, but neither effectively. The result? Dhoom Dhaam turns into Ghoom Ghaaam, a chaotic misadventure that stumbles along like a headless chicken.
The film tries to be a fun-filled rollercoaster of romance and chaos but ultimately falls into the trap of being just another forgettable Bollywood entertainer. Despite having a promising cast with Yami Gautam and Pratik Gandhi, the film struggles to leave a lasting impact due to its predictable plot, weak screenplay, and underwhelming humor. The plot stumbles through its runtime like a headless chicken desperately searching for a place to land.
The movie starts off decently, setting up an interesting premise with a newlywed couple caught in unexpected mayhem. However, as the story progresses, the screenplay loses its grip, relying on forced comedy and repetitive situations that fail to land. Along with the Yami’s monologue that looks a forceful integration and lacks the impact. The chemistry between Yami and Pratik is the film’s saving grace, making Dhoom Dhaam somewhat watchable. However, the dialogues feel generic, lacking the wit and freshness needed for a true rom-com. With a weaker cast, the film would have been even more forgettable.
The direction feels uninspired, and while the film tries to blend the thrill and comedy, the execution is patchy. The supporting characters, instead of adding to the charm, feel like caricatures placed solely for comic relief. The climax, which should have been a high-energy payoff, ends up being predictable and underwhelming.
On the plus side, the film does have a few entertaining moments, and Yami Gautam does her best to elevate the material. Pratik Gandhi, though talented, feels under utilized in a role that doesn’t do justice to his acting skills. The music is passable, with a couple of hummable tracks, but nothing particularly memorable.
Overall, Dhoom Dhaam is not outright terrible, but it’s nothing special either. It’s one of those films you watch, chuckle a few times, and forget immediately. Just another Ghoom Ghaam film on Netflix, fine to be missed.
PK Verdict: Just Silver 2.5*s
