De De Pyaar De Two – Here to Woo!!!
Luv Ranjan at his best yet again! Though directed by Anshul Sharma, you instantly know when you’re watching a Luv Ranjan film — the tone, the punch, the way the characters speak. De De Pyaar De 2 is no different. The signature Ranjan stamp is all over, and honestly, we’re not complaining. This sequel packs in equal doses of fun, high-voltage drama, romance, comedy and ______ , no spoilers here.
R. Madhavan absolutely steals the show. Not only does he look his best, his performance is sharp, charming, and full of life. While Ajay Devgn slips comfortably into his character — grounded, composed, and quietly intense — Madhavan bursts out loud with charisma. It’s a contrast that works like magic. Devgn brings back shades of his Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam era — the same calm gravitas with those deep eyes that speak volumes. Javed Jaffrey, as his witty sidekick, is a masterstroke — their camaraderie adds the right dose of humor and heart. But make no mistake, this round belongs to Madhavan — he gets the best bits to play and nails every one of them.
Rakul Preet Singh once again shines as Ayesha — strong, sensible, and stylish, playing her part with effortless panache. Her character is well-etched — a go-getter who knows what she wants and doesn’t flinch from going after it. Meezan Jafri impresses as the charming guy next door, adding just the right tension to the mix.
The story picks up exactly where the first part left off, with a neat little recap that helps you reconnect instantly. The chemistry Rakul shares with both leads feels organic, believable, and keeps the love triangle engaging. The emotional layers between father and daughter are refreshingly modern, progressive — and, yes, lightly dusted with that sweet hypocrisy (that’s the joke 😉).
True to Ranjan’s tradition, the film delivers a surprise monologue — and it comes from the last person you’d expect. That’s where great writing meets great execution, a clean hit right over the boundary — a sixer on a yorker, indeed!
Sure, the plot is wafer-thin and built again around age-gap romance, but it’s handled with surprising maturity — a clash of perspectives, yet both valid and sensitively explored. The writing, the performances, and that unmistakable Ranjan touch together make De De Pyaar De 2 an easy, entertaining watch and it’s here to woo!!!
PK Verdict: Silver Plus 3.5⭐️s
